Throw a Pie in the Face of Management

Pre-Purchase Your Pie to

Throw in the Face of Management!

How many people in today’s workforce have ever wanted to throw a pie in the face of management?  On March 26th, LifeROOTS is going to find out … and while doing so, is hoping to raise important funds in the process!

LifeROOTS will be holding a unique “Throw a Pie in the Face of Management” fundraiser at the Village Inn at 6300 San Mateo Boulevard on Thursday, March 26th from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.  The fundraiser, which is open to the public, will feature a number of different games, contests and activities – with the day’s main event being the opportunity for attendees to pay for their chance to throw a pie in the face of LifeROOTS top management team to raise money for a good cause.

In conjunction with the day’s “Throw a Pie in the Face of Management” event, any customer visiting the Village Inn on March 26th from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m  will have the opportunity to have a percentage of their bill donated to LifeROOTS.  For every customer  mentioning that they support LifeROOTS,  the Village Inn will donate 10% of their bill directly to LifeROOTS – helping to fund some important programs and services to help those with disabilities in our community.

“We thought this would be a really fun way to engage both our employees and the community as we work to raise money for LifeROOTS to help us enhance our programs and services that we provide to those with disabilities throughout central New Mexico,” says Kathleen Cates, CEO at LifeROOTS.  “The concept of throwing a pie in the face of management is something that we think takes on a very timely angle in today’s workforce and a fundraiser that has never been done with local companies here in Albuquerque, and we think it will not only be an event that all will enjoy, but a very successful way for us to raise money for our organization.”

LifeROOTS will be offering a variety of whipped cream pies to throw … and different costs for throwing  a pie depending on who the management victim will be.  The costs are $5.00 to throw at a direct Supervisor, $10.00 to throw at a Director, $20.00 to throw at the CEO and $25.00 to throw at a Board of Directors member (participants will get a gift card for a pie at the $20 and $25 levels.)  Everyone is welcome to join in the pie-throwing fun … both employees and the general community are encouraged to come out and try their hand (and exercise their throwing arm) while throwing a pie in the face of management!

LifeROOTS will also be offering a variety of other activities for employees and attendees at the fundraiser, including a pie-eating contest, and special relay races where participants make and carry pie boxes around the restaurant.  The event will also feature an on-site LifeROOTS information booth providing  information to customers about LifeROOTS programs and services, including the organization’s free programs for children’s Early Intervention and the LifeROOTS adult services division to help adults with disabilities gain independence through meaningful jobs within the community.

“Whether you have always wanted to throw a pie in the face of management, or whether you are just interested in spending a fun afternoon raising money that will go towards helping children and adults with disabilities, we encourage you to come to the Village Inn on March 26th from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.,” notes Cates, who as CEO expects a number of pies to be coming her way at the event.  “It promises to be a fun day for a great cause, and a chance for LifeROOTS to show the community what our organization is really all about and how we are working together to help those with disabilities in our community.”
